BSBB 3066 - High Performance Teams

Cultivating a high performance team requires knowledge of group dynamics and specific skills to assist in a team’s increased ability to function effectively. As a participant in this course, you will learn about different types of teams, the stages of group development, and the foundational elements of team success. You will learn to create your own high performing team, using positive influencing skills which are backed by decades of research. First, you will develop a vision and mission for your team. Then, our highly interactive learning process will explore group dynamics behavior, effective influencing, relationship management skills, and how to employ personal strengths in the development and maintenance of a high performing team.

In this course, you will learn to:

• Understand how cohesive and resonant teams lead to a relational, efficient, and high performing workplace
• Create a team action plan tailored to you and your organizational needs
• Identify useful strategies, backed by team and leadership research, that will allow you to facilitate and lead team success
• Cultivate a deep understanding of group and team dynamics
• Develop and sustain teamwork in a variety of cross functional situations

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.

With a strong foundation in emotional/social intelligence, he successfully incorporates right and left brain methodologies and neuroplasticity into highly analytical business environments to help inspire “big picture” perspectives.
LoPresti has worked with a broad range of audiences, such as “C” suite executive leaders, senior and middle managers, front line workers, and executive MBA and undergraduate students. Some of the industries where LoPresti has employed his consulting and facilitation skills include large multinational and medium size corporations, private equity firms, academia, information technology, construction, pharmaceuticals and health care, and government. LoPresti holds a doctorate in literature from the University of Denver and is a certified professional coach through the International Coach Federation. He was a major contributor to both the first and second editions of Management: A Focus on Leadership by Annie McKee for Pearson/Prentice Hall. Currently, he is a senior instructor at the Business School of the University of Colorado Denver, as well as an independent management/leadership consultant.
